Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Muryanmu helps Nigerian voters access verified civic and election information. We are committed to a privacy-by-design approach: we collect as little as possible, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
- Web chat: your message and chosen language are sent to our chatbot API to produce a reply. We do not require an account, and chat history is not stored on our servers.
- WhatsApp: when you message us, we use your phone number only to reply to you. Numbers are kept in memory for the active session and are never written to a database or shared with anyone.
- Reports: if you submit a correction or report, we store the details you provide. For WhatsApp reports we keep the number used, only to reply about your report.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand overall usage (pages visited, approximate region). It sets cookies and collects anonymized statistics.
How we use it
We use the limited information above to answer your civic questions, improve the platform, and follow up on reports you submit. We do not build profiles, sell data, or share personal information with third parties.
AI-generated replies
MurBot replies are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors. They are provided for information only and are not official or legal advice. Always verify important election details with official sources such as INEC (inec.gov.ng).
Cookies
We use analytics cookies via Google Analytics to measure how the platform is used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Retention
Reports are retained only as long as needed to review and respond. Web chat and WhatsApp session data are not stored persistently.
