How to Vote in Nigeria

Follow these simple steps on election day to cast your ballot correctly and confidently.

01

Bring Your PVC

Your Permanent Voter Card (PVC) is the only document required. Ensure you carry it to your assigned polling unit.

02

Get Accredited

Present your PVC to the INEC official. Your fingerprint will be verified using the BVAS (Bimodal Voter Accreditation System).

03

Collect Your Ballot

After accreditation, you will receive your ballot paper(s). Each election has a separate coloured ballot paper.

04

Mark & Cast Your Vote

Go to the voting cubicle, mark your preferred candidate with the provided stamp, fold the ballot, and drop it in the ballot box.

05

Your Finger Gets Inked

After voting, your finger will be marked with indelible ink to confirm you have voted. You may stay to witness vote counting.
